Vermillion

With a recent facelift of Historic Downtown Vermillion, the beautiful buildings constructed between 1880 and 1942 have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.  Vermillion is home to the University of South Dakota, a Division I College.  This city of approximately 12,000 provides 135 acres of parks and recreational activities for all ages, a golf course and nearby hunting and fishing as it sits just a couple miles from the Missouri River. The water park is a popular place to visit in the summer and the bluffs and rolling hills are fun in the winter.  Visit a boutique on your day out shopping and end it at one of the fine restaurants.  Vermillion has a superb school system offering public and private education for youth, athletics and other activities and a Senior Center providing activities for adults.  Vermillion is able to support a hospital, nursing care and other medical facilities for it’s residents.  This city offers a little bit of everything for all ages.
